I cannot remember when I first encountered the concept of a now page, but it appealed to me almost immediately. And yet, it took me years to finally set one up. There were several factors, not limited to laziness: such as wanting to hand-craft the HTML like my website, and wanting to set up a subdomain (and being befuddled by the procedure for a bit), and wanting to deploy it from GitLab Pages, and wanting…
You get the idea.
Well, I settled recently on some CSS that I really liked and decided to use that for my now page.
Behold, my little page in all its basic glory: now.achintyarao.in!
I hope that I will update that page every few weeks or months, to give my family and friends a periodic “here’s what I am up to” update. I don’t think I need to be as verbose as I was on the first update. But it’s a nice way for me to remind myself of the things that I would like to be working on, or be thinking about.
As a little bonus, I decided to include the same status widget that I have on my main page, using my brilliant friend Bastian’s Personal API – see the screenshot below.

I’m really glad that I have this page up.
